Itinerary:
Your dedicated My Egypt Travel representative will collect you from your hotel in El-Alamein for the scenic road journey to Cairo, approximately 2.5 hours via a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle. The tour begins at the iconic Giza Plateau, where you will be thrilled by the panoramic view of the magnificent Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus. You will then proceed to visit the Great Sphinx, the colossal statue featuring the head of a pharaoh on a lion’s body, which dates back to the reign of Chephren. The exploration of the plateau concludes with a visit to the Valley Temple, which belongs to the Pyramid complex of Chefren.
Lunch will be served at a high-quality local restaurant.
The tour continues to the highly anticipated Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the world’s largest museum dedicated to a single civilization. The GEM showcases a rare collection spanning 5,000 years of Pharaonic art, featuring over 250,000 genuine artifacts. The highlight is the dedicated exhibit of Tutankhamen’s full treasure collection—including gold, jewelry, and artifacts—which remained sealed in his tomb for over 3,500 years until its discovery in the 1920s. Before commencing the return trip to El-Alamein, you will have the opportunity to visit a Papyrus Institute to shop for authentic Egyptian souvenirs.
