Itinerary:

Your expert My Egypt Travel guide will meet you at your hotel around 7:00 AM to commence the journey to Rosetta (Rashid), located approximately 160 km from El-Alamein on one of the main Nile distributaries. Founded on the ruins of an ancient Ptolemaic city, Rosetta was established in the 9th century A.D. by order of the Abbasid Caliph as a fort during the Seventh Crusade and now stands as a remarkable open-air museum of Islamic architecture.

The tour begins with a visit to the Qaitbay Fortress, constructed by the Mamluk Sultan Qaitbay. This fortress is historically significant as the site where the famous Rosetta Stone was discovered in 1799 A.D.

Next, you will proceed to the Rosetta National Museum, a landmark housed within a beautiful archaeological structure dating back to the mid-18th century. You will also visit other significant historical landmarks of Rosetta, including Hammam Azoz, the Abu Mandour Mosque, and the Zainab House.

The tour continues with a drive through the historical district, observing the archaeological houses and the local Souk (market). The final highlight is a visit to the Nile Mouth, where you can enjoy watching the majestic river conclude its course by merging with the Mediterranean Sea. The experience concludes with a peaceful felucca ride on the Nile itself.

After concluding the tour, you will be transferred back to El-Alamein, where you will be dropped off at your hotel for your overnight stay.
