Itinerary:
My Egypt Travel offers this history-filled overnight private trip by bus from Hurghada to witness the greatest monuments of Cairo and Giza. With your own private Egyptologist guide to accompany you, prepare to be amazed at the history of this great city.
Day 1: Hurghada to Cairo, Giza Pyramids and Sphinx
Early morning departure (very early) from your hotel in Hurghada via air-conditioned bus for the long drive to Cairo.
Upon arrival, you will visit the Great Pyramids and Sphinx of Giza. While there are actually over 100 pyramids in Egypt, the Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops) is the only “Wonder of the Ancient World” that still survives. During your time here, you’ll also see the mysterious Sphinx, a symbol that has come to represent the essence of Egypt for thousands of years. You will have the opportunity to enter a pyramid (additional cost).
Lunch will be included during the day. Later, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in and overnight accommodation in Cairo.
Day 2: GEM, Citadel, Coptic Cairo, and Khan el-Khalili
After breakfast, your guide will accompany you to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM). Explore the history of Egypt through its vast collection, including the famous collection of King Tutankhamun treasures.
Next, visit the Citadel of Salah el-Din, one of the world’s greatest monuments to medieval warfare, and the beautiful Alabaster Mosque inside.
Continue to Coptic Cairo to visit historic sites like The Hanging Church (dating to around the 4th century), the Church of St Sergius (Abu Serga), and the Ben Ezra Synagogue.
Finally, grab a bargain when you barter with the locals at Khan el-Khalili Bazaars, Cairo’s most famous shopping area, for spices, leather goods, jewelry, and more.
In the late afternoon, you will begin the long driving journey back to Hurghada by bus.
