Seven days for two. Cairo for the Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum. Then four nights on the Nile on the Farah Nile Cruise, in a honeymoon suite with a private balcony. We handle the rest: airport pickup with roses, sparkling wine in the room, a private dinner on the ship’s deck, a felucca to ourselves at sunset in Aswan.
This is not a group tour dressed up as romantic. It’s private. You get your own guide, your own vehicle, your own speed. If you want to skip something on the itinerary and stay on the ship, you do. If you want to stay an extra hour at Karnak, you do.
What it is: a small-ship cruise with honeymoon-focused service. What it isn’t: a luxury resort. The Farah Nile Cruise is 5-star but it’s still a Nile cruise ship — cabins are compact, dining is fixed-times, and the pool is small. The romance comes from the privacy, the service, and the fact you’re not in a group.
What you actually see
Cairo — Days 1-2. Day 1 is arrival. Private transfer from the airport — the driver meets you with a sign, roses, and a cold towel. Check in at Steigenberger Pyramids. Room is set up with rose petals and sparkling wine.
Day 2 covers Giza Plateau in the morning (three pyramids, Sphinx, Valley Temple) and the Grand Egyptian Museum in the afternoon. You go at your own pace. Lunch is at a quiet restaurant near the plateau — not the tourist spots. Back at the hotel by 4 PM. Dinner that night is on a private felucca on the Nile — a table for two, a small menu, and the city lights. Not the touristy dinner cruise with belly dancing and loud music.
Luxor & Cruise — Days 3-6. Fly to Luxor. Board the Farah Nile Cruise. Honeymoon suite with a private balcony — you can sit outside in the evening with a drink and watch the Nile. Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut’s Temple, Edfu, Kom Ombo, Aswan High Dam, Philae Temple.
One evening on the ship, you get a private dinner — table for two on the sundeck, not in the main dining room. The menu is the same but the setting is different. Sunset or after-dark, depending on the sailing schedule.
Aswan — Day 6. A private felucca at sunset — just the two of you and the captain. 1 hour on the Nile, no other passengers. Bring a camera.
Cairo — Day 7. Fly back. Departure.

Honest notes
The Farah Nile Cruise is not a luxury yacht. It’s a 5-star Nile cruise ship. Cabins are compact (the honeymoon suite is bigger, but it’s still a ship cabin). Dining is at fixed times. The pool is small. If you want a luxury small-ship experience, ask about the Dahabiya option — we run a separate 9-day Dahabiya honeymoon tour. It costs more but is a different experience.
The Cairo felucca dinner is weather-dependent. If it’s windy or the Nile is rough, we move the dinner indoors at a Nile-view restaurant instead. We tell you the day before.
Drinks on the cruise are extra. Full board covers food only. Water with meals costs around $3-5 per bottle. Wine $10-15 per glass. If you want a bottle of champagne on the ship, buy it at the Cairo airport duty-free before you fly — much cheaper than on board.
Abu Simbel is optional. Not included in the $2,400 price. If you want it, we schedule it on Day 6 morning before the Aswan sites. Flight: $350-400 per person. Road convoy: $100-130 per person. It’s a 4 AM wake-up — worth it if you want to see the temples, but skip it if you’d rather sleep in.
Hot air balloon is optional. $120-150 per person. Sunrise flight over the West Bank. Most couples do it on Day 4 morning. It’s a 4:30 AM pickup. Worth it once.
Best time of year: October to April. December and February are the most popular honeymoon months — book 5-6 months ahead. Summer (May-September) is hot but cheaper, and the ship has air-conditioning.
